We are looking for a part-time Optometric Assistant to work at our Kildonan Place Mall location. The position is for 24-36 hours weekly, with the potential of more if coverage is needed.

Experience in the Optometry/medical field is an asset, but not required.

Rate: $16.40 per hour - wage increase after probationary period

A typical day of an Optometric Assistant consists of:

- Answering calls and emails
- Directing patients to appropriate areas within the Optical to either Doctors office or Glasses
- Booking Routine Eye Exams and other types of appointments
- Billing private insurance and tracking billings throughout the day
- Processing POS (Point of Sale) transactions
- Scanning, faxing and organizing paperwork
- Maintaining general upkeep of the clinic
- Usage of EHR (Electronic Medical Records)
- Pretesting patients using an autorefractor, tonometer and Visual Fields machine
