Century Subaru Location: Saint John, Current Brunswick

Century Subaru is looking for an experienced, organized, and collaborative Dealership Controller to join our team in Saint John, New Brunswick. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys supporting people, improving processes, and playing an active role in dealership operations.

Reporting Relationship

The Dealership Controller reports to the dealership’s General Manager and Group Controller and works closely with department managers across Sales, Service, Parts, and the Business Office.

What You’ll Do

· Oversee day-to-day accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, banking, and general ledger activities.

· Lead and support the dealership’s accounting and administrative team.

· Manage month-end and year-end processes, reconciliations, financial statements, and manufacturer reporting.

· Review financial results with management and identify discrepancies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

· Oversee vehicle-deal accounting, inventory and floorplan reconciliations, manufacturer incentives, and outstanding deals.

· Monitor expenses, cash flow, and internal controls.

· Ensure government filings and remittances are completed accurately and on time.

· Support budgeting, forecasting, and improvements to dealership accounting processes.

· Work collaboratively with dealership departments to resolve accounting issues and support daily operations.

Qualifications

· Five or more years of progressive accounting experience.





· Automotive dealership accounting experience is preferred.

· Previous experience in a Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, or similar role.

· Experience leading or supervising an accounting team.

· Strong knowledge of financial statements, reconciliations, month-end processes, and internal controls.

· CPA designation is preferred but not required.

· Strong Microsoft Excel and accounting-system skills.

· Experience with dealership management systems is considered an asset.

· Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

· A dependable and collaborative leadership style, with the ability to handle confidential information professionally.
