About the Role

Install, maintain, repair, and service plumbing systems in residential settings, continuing to develop hands-on skills while gaining experience with Alberta plumbing codes, safety requirements, tools, materials, and installation procedures.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist Journeyperson Plumbers with the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems.
- Install and connect water supply, drainage, waste, and vent piping.
- Assist with rough-in and finish plumbing for new construction projects.
- Measure, cut, thread, solder, press, and assemble various types of pipe and fittings under supervision.
- Install plumbing fixtures, including toilets, sinks, faucets, showers, tubs, and related equipment.
- Assist with installation and servicing of hot water tanks, pumps, valves, and other plumbing equipment.
- Read and interpret basic blueprints, drawings, specifications, and plumbing layouts.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and identify potential plumbing issues under supervision.
- Use hand and power tools safely and properly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Load, unload, transport, and properly store tools, equipment, and plumbing materials.
- Follow directions from Journeypersons, forepersons, and project supervisors.
- Follow applicable Alberta plumbing codes, workplace safety regulations, and Acqbuilt procedures.
- Participate in testing plumbing systems for leaks, pressure, drainage, and proper operation.
- Communicate professionally with coworkers, supervisors, contractors, and customers when required.




- Continue developing technical skills through on-the-job training and apprenticeship schooling.
- Complete residential plumbing installations according to drawings, schedules, and quality standards
- Perform additional duties as required

Qualifications

- Registered 2nd Year Plumbing Apprentice in Alberta.
- Previous experience working as a plumbing apprentice or helper.
- Basic understanding of plumbing tools, materials, fittings, and installation methods.
- Ability to read basic drawings and measurements.
- Strong willingness to learn and develop plumbing skills.
- Ability to work independently when assigned tasks and effectively as part of a team.
- Good physical condition and ability to lift materials and work in confined spaces or awkward positions.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license required.
- Commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.

Working Conditions

- Work may be performed indoors and outdoors, including construction sites and residential properties.
- May involve working in crawl spaces, mechanical rooms, basements, ceilings, trenches, and other confined or physically demanding areas.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, moisture,



and construction materials.
- May require standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting, and working at heights.
- May require occasional overtime, early starts, or travel between job sites.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Frequent use of hand and power tools
- Exposure to outdoor elements, dust, and construction noise
- Overtime as required
