Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Construction Labourer / Handyman Support Worker to assist with residential and commercial construction, renovation, and maintenance projects. The successful candidate will support skilled tradespersons and perform a variety of labour-intensive and construction support tasks on multiple job sites.

Duties

- Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Prepare and clean construction and renovation work areas.
- Assist carpenters, flooring installers, drywallers, painters, cabinet installers, and other skilled tradespersons.
- Support flooring installation projects, including material preparation and site cleanup.
- Assist with cabinet assembly, installation, and adjustments.
- Assist with basement development and finishing projects.
- Perform demolition, debris removal, and disposal of construction waste.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely.
- Install and remove temporary structures, barriers, and protective coverings.
- Mix and prepare construction materials as required.
- Assist with painting, drywall sanding, trim installation, and general finishing activities.
- Move materials to designated work areas and maintain organized job sites.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
- Perform general handyman and maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Travel to various construction sites as required.

Skills

- Proficiency with hand tools and basic power tools used in construction environments
- Knowledge of carpentry techniques, blueprint reading, and schematics interpretation
- Experience with drywall installation, finishing, and painting techniques
- Ability to perform caulking, tile laying, flooring installation, and basic plumbing tasks




- Understanding of safety standards related to construction sites and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Robust teamwork skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in construction, renovation, handyman services, or a related field.
- Experience assisting with residential construction and renovation projects.
- Familiarity with flooring, cabinetry, drywall, painting, framing, and basement finishing activities.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's licence is an asset.

Education

- Secondary school completion preferred.
- On-the-job training will be provided.

Preferred Assets

- Experience working in multicultural environments.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Knowledge of an Asian language (such as Tamil, Hindi, Punjabi, Mandarin, or another Asian language) is considered an asset for communication with diverse clients, subcontractors, and team members.

Working Conditions

- Indoor and outdoor construction environments.
- Frequent lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, and climbing.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
