We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a Vancouver, British Columbia team on a Contract basis for an initial 2-month term, with the possibility of extension. This position supports core accounting operations in a fast-moving entertainment environment and is well suited to someone who is detail-oriented, persistent, and comfortable coordinating with teams across different functions. The role focuses heavily on reconciliations, month-end activities, and maintaining accurate financial records while working in a hybrid arrangement with a minimum of three days in the office.

Responsibilities:

- Manage daily accounting tasks with a strong emphasis on completing bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and ensuring discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Perform balance sheet, general ledger, and intercompany reconciliations to support accurate financial reporting.
- Contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities by preparing journal entries, accruals, and other required adjustments.
- Work closely with accounts payable and accounts receivable teams to support customer setup, invoicing, receipt matching, and review of subledger activity and aged balances.
- Prepare audit-ready schedules and supporting documentation for internal reporting, tax requirements, and external review processes.
- Assist with regulatory filings and other compliance-related submissions in accordance with applicable reporting requirements.
- Analyze account activity, identify variances, and investigate issues to improve the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Review accounting records for compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards, while helping strengthen processes, controls, and documentation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address accounting questions, support operational needs,



and maintain smooth financial workflows in a hybrid work environment.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or similar work environment.
- CPA designation or active progress toward certification is considered an asset.
- Solid understanding of core accounting principles, including general ledger activity, reconciliations, and financial close procedures.
- Hands-on experience supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Proficiency with Excel and accounting systems such as Oracle or comparable ERP platforms.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with careful attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage priorities independently and follow through consistently.
