This role requires someone who can assess a property, understand what needs to be done, organize the crew, and ensure the work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. The successful candidate will take pride in maintaining beautiful, healthy, and well-presented gardens throughout the season.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily garden maintenance crews while remaining hands-on with the work.

- Lead and complete mulching projects, including bed preparation, edging, mulch installation, spreading, and finishing.
- Perform and oversee garden enhancements, including planting perennials, shrubs, annuals, ornamental grasses, soil amendments, bed renovations, and plant replacements.
- Properly prune and maintain shrubs, trees, perennials, and ornamental grasses according to horticultural best practices.
- Identify and report plant health concerns, pests, diseases, winter damage, drainage issues, and other landscape problems.
- Recognize opportunities for additional garden improvements and communicate recommendations to management.

- Inspect completed work and ensure properties are left clean, tidy, and professionally maintained.
- Communicate professionally with clients when required and report client requests or concerns to management.
- Maintain and safely operate maintenance equipment, tools, and vehicles, while ensuring equipment is properly cared for.
- Follow all company safety procedures and ensure crew members work safely and use appropriate PPE.
- Work independently, problem-solve in the field, and take ownership of the quality and completion of assigned properties.
Qualifications & Experience
- 2+ years of landscape maintenance crew lead/supervisor experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of plant identification, pruning, and general plant care.
- Previous experience with garden bed maintenance, spring and fall cleanups, mulching, planting, pruning, edging, and garden enhancements.

- Experience identifying common plant pests, diseases, and health concerns.
- Strong understanding of seasonal garden maintenance practices.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions in the field.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
- Ability to safely operate landscape maintenance equipment.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and performing physically demanding work.
What We Are Looking For
