Production Manager

Position Overview

Halenda's Fine Food Limited is seeking a highly skilled, analytical, and results-driven Production Manager to lead and oversee all production and operational activities within our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production planning, inventory, supply chain coordination, employee performance, food safety compliance, and continuous process improvement.

This role requires a proactive leader with strong organizational and financial acumen who can effectively manage a fast-paced production environment, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure operational excellence while maintaining the highest standards of quality and food safety.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production & Operations Management

- Oversee production planning and scheduling to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operations.
- Manage purchase orders for raw materials and coordinate supply chain logistics to maintain adequate inventory levels.
- Monitor production outcomes, including disassembly runs, ensuring quantity, quality, yield optimization, and cost expectations are achieved.
- Collaborate with Production Supervisors to ensure product specifications and production timelines are met.
- Monitor aged inventory and implement proactive measures to minimize waste and maintain production flow.
- Coordinate orders and confirm production inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and inventory control.
- Oversee the reordering of production supplies and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure cost efficiency and product availability.
- Regularly inspect and monitor production supplies to ensure adequate stock levels and timely replenishment.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Halenda's ERP and Production Operations systems and utilize these systems to improve operational performance.
- Update and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) to reflect formulation, packaging, or process changes and ensure system accuracy.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiencies.
- Keep product samples prepared and readily available for the Sales Team and customer requirements.

2. Inventory, Supply Chain & Procurement Management

- Manage inventory levels of raw materials, packaging materials, and production supplies to support operational requirements.




- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors regarding deliveries, pricing, and inventory requirements.
- Review inventory reports and implement strategies to optimize stock levels and reduce excess or obsolete inventory.
- Ensure production materials are available to meet production schedules while minimizing carrying costs.
- Monitor supply chain performance and identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.

4. Employee Management

- Directly manage and supervise production and packaging staff, ensuring adherence to quality standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), procedures, and deadlines.
- Resolve production-related issues promptly and implement corrective actions to maintain smooth operations.
- Oversee employee scheduling for production and packaging departments to ensure optimal staffing levels.
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary processes.
- Foster a positive, secure, and collaborative work environment that encourages accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and departmental standards.

5. Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance

- Conduct and oversee daily pre-operational and post-operational production floor inspections to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Ensure all food safety documentation and records are completed accurately and maintained appropriately.
- Oversee the completion and documentation of:
- Fermentation and dry logs
- Shrink reports
- Yield reports
- Kilo-per-man-hour reports
- Weekly production reports
- Ensure all production and receiving documentation is properly completed, signed, and filed.
- Participate in the regular review and updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and other compliance documents.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable food safety regulations, corporate policies, and industry standards.

6. Reporting & Performance Management

- Monitor key production and operational performance indicators, including yield, labor efficiency,



inventory levels, and production costs.
- Prepare and present production and operational reports to senior management.
- Analyze operational data and implement corrective actions to improve performance and profitability.
- Develop strategies to optimize resource utilization and improve overall production efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in production and operations management, preferably within the food manufacturing industry.

· Proven experience working in a CFIA-inspected food manufacturing facility, with a strong understanding of CFIA requirements, regulatory compliance, inspections, and food safety standards.

· Strong knowledge of food manufacturing processes, inventory management, production planning, and supply chain operations.

· Experience working with ERP systems and production management software.

· Solid understanding of financial reporting, cost management, production costing, and yield optimization.

· Experience preparing for and supporting CFIA inspections, audits, corrective actions, regulatory documentation, traceability, and compliance programs.

· Strong knowledge of HACCP, Preventive Control Plans (PCP), GMP, sanitation programs, allergen control, traceability, recall procedures, and other food safety requirements applicable to CFIA-regulated facilities.

· Ability to ensure production operations consistently meet CFIA, food safety, quality, and internal compliance standards.

· Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

· Excellent communication, organizational, and team-management abilities.

· Thorough knowledge of Valuable Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety regulations, and quality management systems.

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, continuously changing food manufacturing environment.
