Overview
RONCO is looking for a reliable, hands-on Warehouse & Facilities Maintenance Associate to support warehouse operations, facility maintenance and general workplace support. The role will normally be approximately 60% warehouse operations and 40% facilities maintenance/workplace support, although the balance may vary depending on business needs. During the initial period, more time may be focused on outstanding maintenance, repair and facility improvement projects. The successful candidate will be practical, organized, safety-conscious and comfortable working independently across multiple RONCO facilities and assigned locations.
Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations – Approximately 60%
- Support receiving, shipping, loading/unloading, material movement, picking, staging and general warehouse activities.
- Assist with inventory counts, stock replenishment, inventory accuracy, storage and warehouse organization.
- Operate forklifts and other authorized warehouse equipment safely, including required equipment checks.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe warehouse environment and report equipment or safety concerns.
- Provide other warehouse and material-handling support based on operational needs.
Facilities Maintenance & Workplace Support – Approximately 40%
- Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs and general upkeep at assigned RONCO facilities and properties, including painting, basic carpentry, plumbing and minor installations within the employee’s skills and qualifications.
- Conduct facility inspections, troubleshoot maintenance issues and prioritize requests based on safety, urgency and operational impact.
- Identify work requiring qualified or licensed trades and coordinate appropriate external support.
- Support preventive maintenance, facility improvements and repair projects while maintaining tools, equipment and maintenance areas in good condition.
- Support general workplace upkeep, including light cleaning/tidying, furniture or room setup, storage organization and other facility needs.
- Monitor and replenish office, kitchen, cleaning, facility and maintenance supplies as required.
Contractor, Vendor & Administrative Support
- Obtain and compare quotations from contractors, trades and service providers and provide information to management for review.
- Coordinate contractor visits, site access, scheduling and follow-up, and confirm completion of approved work.
- Maintain basic records of maintenance requests, quotations, purchases, contractor services and completed work with excel.
- Assist with approved office/facility supply ordering, deliveries and other related administrative coordination.
Safety & General Responsibilities
- Perform all duties in accordance with RONCO health and safety requirements, use appropriate PPE and promptly report hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Ensure maintenance and warehouse activities are completed safely without unnecessary risk to employees, visitors, contractors, products or property.
- Work cooperatively with Warehouse, Operations, Quality, Health & Safety and other departments as required.
- Travel between assigned locations as required, including occasional travel within Canada.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned based on changing operational and business needs.
Skills and Knowledge Requirements
- Practical knowledge of general building maintenance and minor repairs, including basic painting, carpentry and plumbing.
- Dependable,
flexible and willing to support a variety of operational and workplace needs.
- Valuable troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to recognize when work requires a qualified or licensed contractor.
- Strong organization and time-management skills with the ability to manage changing priorities.
- Ability to work independently while keeping the appropriate manager informed of progress and issues.
- Good communication skills when working with employees, managers, contractors and vendors.
- Basic computer and administrative skills for maintaining maintenance, purchasing and service records.
- Strong attention to safety, quality and detail.
Desired Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with contractors, obtaining quotations or coordinating service providers is an asset.
- Forklift experience is an asset.
- Technical, skilled-trade or related education/certification is an asset.
- Approximately 2–5 years of relevant experience in warehouse operations, facilities/building maintenance, property maintenance or a similar hands-on role.
- Experience performing general building maintenance and minor repairs.
- Previous warehouse, manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.
- Experience with receiving, shipping, inventory handling and material movement preferred.
