Position: Heavy Duty Technician

Location: TNT Crane & Rigging Canada Inc. -Leduc

TNT Crane & Rigging Canada Inc. is looking to hire a Heavy-Duty Technician to join our Edmonton Team.

Job Summary

The Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of heavy-duty trucks, cranes, and related equipment. This role ensures that all equipment is safe, reliable, and compliant with company standards and regulatory requirements, minimizing downtime and supporting operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on company equipment.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs on trucks, cranes, trailers, and other heavy equipment.
- Complete component replacements, including engines, transmissions, axles, brakes, steering, and suspension systems.
- Test drive and operate equipment (where licensed) to confirm repairs and ensure proper performance.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent in the company’s maintenance system.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including WorkSafeBC / WCB Alberta regulations and company standards.
- Collaborate with supervisors, operators, and other technicians to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime.
- Keep tools, shop equipment, and work area clean, organized, and in safe working condition.




- Assist with training apprentices or junior technicians when required.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment and technology.

Qualifications

- Education & Certification:
- Journeyman Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician (Red Seal preferred).
- Valid driver’s license (Class 1 considered an asset).
- Experience:
- Minimum [X] years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy-duty trucks and equipment (crane experience preferred).
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a rapid-paced environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety and attention to detail.
