The Town of Slave Lake is looking for an energetic, responsible individual to join our Aquatics team as a Senior Lifeguard and ensure the safety of facility patrons and staff at our Aquatic facility.

SALARY:
$22.95 - $28.91 per hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lifeguarding patrons, instructing and preparing swimming lessons
- Instruct quality Life Saving Programs by preparing lesson plans and accurately evaluating by completing report cards and evaluations constructively
- Take part in all routine front-end customer service
- Carry out regular inspections of the mechanical room, storage room, change rooms, viewing area and general office, making necessary adjustments to correct behavioural and untidiness concerns
- Undertake a leadership role in supervising, directing, and mentoring junior lifeguards, ensuring aquatic policies and standards are consistently maintained.
- Monitor and adjust water chemistry as required.
- This position requires morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend work.
QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Must be 18 Years of Age
- Lifesaving Swim Instructor
- National Lifeguard Service
- Standard First Aid
- CPR Level C
- Pool Operator Level I would be an asset
- LSI would be an asset
- Minimum 2 years of lifeguarding experience
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Good interpersonal skills in working with co-workers and the public.
- Good flexibility,
self-initiative, independence, and organizational skills.
- Proven productivity and reliability.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL WORKPLACE:
- Occasional moderate lifting of equipment and supplies
- Being in and out of the pool regularly
- Exposure to heat, chlorine, other chemicals, and humidity
- Noise level is usually moderate
- May be assigned an irregular work schedule, including weekends, early mornings, and evenings
