Job Description:
Earl Hardy Trucking is currently hiring a Warehouse & Yard Attendant to join our transportation team. Join a team that embodies a "yes, we can" spirit and a commitment to excellence. In this role, you'll be a critical backbone of our yard and warehouse operations — managing equipment, coordinating transfers with dispatch, and keeping our yard running safely and efficiently day to day.

Key Responsibilities

- Yard & Equipment Management: Manage yard, truck, and trailer equipment.
- Warehouse & Inventory: Manage warehouse and transfers; keep warehouse inventory up to date.
- Gear & Tools: Responsible for straps, chains, binders, tarps, bungee cords, and other equipment. Fixing tarps and roll-tite trailers.
- Trailer Upkeep: Maintain trailers clean and clear of not-in-use equipment.
- Coordination: Coordinate transfers with the dispatch team and inform the billing department of freight arrivals and departures to/from the warehouse/yard.
- Driver Support: Assist drivers with tarping loads in the yard; double-check that loads are properly secured before leaving.
- Safety:



Report potential hazards and unsafe behavior to management for correction.
- Yard Upkeep: Keep yard clean and organized; remove snow from the yard and equipment during winter months.
- Shop Support: Assist in the shop as needed.
- Customer Service: Acknowledge customers and carriers in a friendly manner and provide assistance when required.
- Perform other duties as required

Requirements:

- Mechanically inclined, with strong attention to safety
- Comfortable working outdoors in variable weather conditions, including winter snow removal duties
- Ability to lift and handle heavy equipment/gear regularly
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work well under pressure and communicate effectively with dispatch, drivers, and shop staff
- Criminal background check

Preferred Skills:

- Experience operating forklifts safely in a busy yard setting
- Previous background in transportation, logistics, warehousing, construction, or heavy equipment industries

Pay: $22.50-$27.00 per hour
