Grey Rock is hiring a carpenter for a short-term contract lasting about 3 to 4 months. The position ends at the end of November 2026.
Pay is $28.00 per hour. Based on 55.5 paid hours, gross pay is $1,554 for a full week before deductions.
Hours
Monday to Thursday: 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Friday: 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
One unpaid 30-minute meal break each day
The work
This is hands-on carpentry and construction work. Duties include framing, concrete formwork, finishing, repairs and general carpentry.
Most of the time, you will be working by yourself. You should be comfortable organizing your work, reading drawings, taking measurements and completing tasks without close supervision. You will also need to recognize when an issue should be brought forward before work continues.
The job involves using hand and power tools, lifting materials, climbing, bending and working outdoors in changing weather.
You will be responsible for keeping your work area clean and following site safety procedures.
Experience
Previous carpentry or construction experience is preferred, especially framing, concrete formwork or finish work. Red Seal, carpentry certification, First Aid, WHMIS and other construction safety training are assets, not requirements.
Practical experience, sound judgment and dependable attendance are significant because this position involves working alone. A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation are preferred.
If you have solid hands-on construction experience but no trade certificate, apply anyway.
Send us a resume with a short description of the carpentry or construction work you have done.
