About Us:
Maplesoft Group is currently seeking a Senior Python Developer – Privacy-Enhancing Technology (PET) for a contract opportunity. This role will provide hands-on expertise in developing, testing, and operationalizing privacy-preserving solutions for structured and unstructured datasets. The ideal candidate will combine advanced Python, data science, machine learning, ETL, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and privacy engineering experience.

Position Summary:
The Senior Python Developer will develop and implement Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PETs) and privacy-preserving data solutions, with a strong focus on moving proof-of-concept solutions into reliable, scalable, production-ready applications.

The successful candidate will have direct experience with technologies such as differential privacy, data anonymization/de-identification, synthetic data, federated learning, homomorphic encryption, secure multiparty computation, or comparable privacy-preserving techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement Privacy-Enhancing Technologies for structured and unstructured datasets.
- Design privacy-preserving data-processing approaches, including anonymization, de-identification, differential privacy, and synthetic data generation.
- Integrate open-source libraries, platforms, and technical components into operational solutions.
- Design, develop, and validate proofs of concept with a focus on production deployment.
- Build test harnesses to evaluate privacy, performance, scalability, and data-quality metrics.
- Create, maintain,



and optimize ETL and data-processing pipelines.
- Analyze large, complex, structured, semi-structured, unstructured, nested, graph, and network-based datasets.
- Provision, configure, orchestrate, and manage cloud resources supporting deployed solutions.
- Apply DevOps, version control, automated testing, CI/CD, and deployment practices.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and frameworks to improve solution performance, scalability, efficiency, and maintainability.
- Analyze technical findings and prepare recommendations for scalable PET solutions.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, data artifacts, presentations, and other project deliverables.
- Present technical conclusions and privacy, performance, and scalability trade-offs to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

- Currently based in Canada and legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Valid Government of Canada Secret security clearance.
- Minimum 5 years of recent skilled Python development experience.
- Strong experience with Python data, scientific-computing, and machine-learning libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, pandas, Polars, PySpark, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Matplotlib, and/or Seaborn.
- Minimum 3 years of recent DevOps experience supporting data-science or machine-learning applications.
- Experience applying SOLID software-development principles.
- Strong Git or comparable version-control experience.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
- Experience processing and analyzing large, complex datasets.
- Direct, demonstrable experience developing or implementing Privacy-Enhancing Technologies.
- Experience working with government, financial services, banking, insurance, healthcare,



or another regulated environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, Privacy-Enhancing Technologies, Cybersecurity, Cryptography, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical discipline.
- Direct experience with differential privacy, synthetic data, federated learning, homomorphic encryption, secure multiparty computation, zero-knowledge proofs, anonymization, or de-identification.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, Jupyter Notebooks, Docker, and Linux.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or equivalent technologies.
- Knowledge of Monte Carlo simulation, Markov models, statistical privacy, and disclosure-control techniques.
- Experience with machine-learning methodologies, GANs, transformers, autoencoders, and retrieval-augmented generation.
- Strong technical documentation and stakeholder-presentation skills.
- Ability to attend the Ottawa office approximately four days per month.

Compensation:
Salary Range: $80.00 - $100.00 / hour
