We are currently looking for qualified Grade 11 - 12 Tutors for Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Math (Functions, Calculus & Data Management). Some work may be available to work with students at younger grade levels. The advertised hourly rate provides as a starting amount and will be open to negotiation based on certification, work experience as well as proficiency and competency within the teaching role over the first three months.

We are seeking talented, motivated tutors who are able to support both struggling, mainstream, and gifted students reach their full potential by supplementing the instruction they receive in day school and guiding them toward study practices and aides that can help them excel. Work is typically done individually in an one-on-one setting at our learning center in Kitchener or as needed through an online delivery model where learners and parents make that request.

Responsibilities:

- To review key concepts in the applicable subject area




- Ask students about specific topics or subject areas that are giving them trouble or that warrant further exploration
- Review recent homework assignment and test scores, and work through problems or questions that the student did not answer correctly
- Employ proven study aides to prepare for upcoming tests and quizzes
- Communicate with parents/guardians as needed about trouble areas or any other issue that requires attention

Required Qualifications

- Established proficiency in subject matter
- Able to develop positive rapport with students
- Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check on file
- Excellent communication skills: English language proficiency is a must
- Ontario Teaching certificate is an asset but not necessary
- Contract Type: Part Time with flexible hours
