Sunny Unite is seeking a reliable, proactive, and motivated Design-Build Project Coordinator Intern to join our Project Team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a current college or university student interested in building a career in the design and construction industry.
Working alongside experienced project managers and coordinators, you will support active projects through document control, data management, research, contractor communication, and day-to-day project administration. The role offers practical exposure to real-world design-build and construction operations in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
What You Will Do
- Assist with project document control, data entry, and file management;
- Provide administrative support to the Design, Construction, Procurement, and Project Accounting teams;
- Support purchase order administration and record-keeping;
- Collect, review, and organize vendor and subcontractor documentation, including Certificates of Insurance, business licences, WSIB clearance certificates, and other required compliance documents;
- Assist with the preparation of project closeout packages;
- Support change management, drawings, submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), and other project documentation as required;
- Communicate with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members regarding project coordination and documentation;
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date subcontractor and vendor contact information;
- Track assigned tasks and keep the Project Accounting Manager, Project Coordination Manager, and project teams informed of progress and potential issues;
- Support an active project under the guidance of a Project Manager;
- Perform other project coordination and administrative duties as assigned.
What You Need
- Currently enrolled in a college or university Bachelor’s degree or diploma program in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering,
Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field;
- An interest in developing a career in the design-build, construction, or project management industry;
- Strong written communication skills, with careful attention to grammar, spelling, and accuracy;
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
- Professional phone and email etiquette;
- Effective time-management skills, punctuality, and the ability to meet deadlines;
- The ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments;
- Strong attention to detail and a responsible, dependable approach to work;
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to communicate respectfully with people from different backgrounds;
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook;
- Authorization to work in Canada for the duration of the internship.

Pay: $45,000.00-$58,000.00 per year
