Construction Coordinator / Estimator

H2Ontario is seeking a full-time Construction Coordinator / Estimator to join our team.

Summary:
H2Ontario is seeking a self-motivated individual with effective communication skills and a strong work ethic, who wants to learn and grow within our organization. We are currently looking for a candidate with a minimum 5 years of construction experience that can be responsible for evaluating estimating project costs from initial blueprints to final tender submission, while simultaneously coordinating project operations, tracking budgets, and managing stakeholder communication for ongoing projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate awarded projects from pre-construction through construction completion.
- Coordinate with project managers, site teams, suppliers, and subcontractors and assist in day-to-day project job site duties.
- Prepare RFIs, submittals, purchase orders, change orders, and project documentation.
- Maintain, track, and update project related documents including costs, schedules, materials and daily jobsite records.
- Additional field services as required including assisting with general setup / cleanup tasks and receiving / unloading of construction materials at project sites.
- Support project closeout and handover.
- Attend site meetings / pre-bid site visits as required.
- Prepare quantity takeoffs and detailed cost estimates for various construction projects, including water and wastewater treatment facilities, well houses and pumping stations.
- Reviewing tender project drawings, specifications,
and other documents to accurately assess project scope.
- Coordination of vendors and subcontractors and obtaining and reviewing quotes to ensure accurate pricing of materials, equipment, services, and compliance with project specifications.
- Prepare and submit competitive tenders.
Requirements:
- Post-Secondary Education in Civil or Construction Engineering/Technology, or Construction Management.
- 5 years related experience with a general contractor/construction management organization or equivalent combination of education/training/experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Project), SharePoint and Bluebeam.
- Strong inter-personal and communication skills, proficient in the English language (written and oral)
- Exposure to work in the year-round construction environment.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Ability to meet and adhere to deadlines and work under strict time constraints.
Skills considered to be an asset:
- Previous experience with estimation and construction of water/wastewater related projects.
- Civil construction related experience.
- Knowledge of MS Project.
Other Requirements:
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $60,000.00-$85,000.00 per year (final salary will be dependent on experience)
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Experience: Construction: 5 years (preferred)
Work Location: In person (Jobsite or Main Office)
Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
