Killarney Animal Hospital in Vancouver is seeking a Veterinary Assistant/ Receptionist to join our growing team. We're an Independent, multi doctor, small animal practice open 7 days per week. Applicants must have excellent communication and multi-tasking skills with compassionate focus on patient/client relations. We are looking for someone who is adaptable, self-motivated, detail orientated and a reliable team player who loves working with both animals and people.

Reception duties include (but not limited to):

- Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information about services
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently
- Admitting/ discharging patients for both appointment and hospitalization
- Process payments and handle billing transactions accurately
- Document preparation such as certificates, home care instructions, insurance claims, treatment plans, estimates, consent forms
- Maintain accurate patient records and update client information regularly
- Communication with clients both verbal (in clinic or phone) and written (emails)




- Ensure the clinic remains clean, organized, and professional at all times
- Manage inventory of office supplies and assist with administrative tasks as required

Technical duties include:

- Animal restraint for x-ray, specimen collection and examination
- Assisting Doctor and staff with various technical procedures ranging from nail trims to any form of treatment
- Medication Administration
- Preparing and dispensing various medications
- Patient monitoring
