- Full-time 1.0 FTE Interim teaching position
- Instruction in a complexity team, working with administration, teachers, educational assistants, and support staff to assist students with a range of learning needs in grades 10-12
- This position will focus on literacy and numeracy intervention, and supporting diverse learners of varying cognitive levels
- Duties will commence September 8, 2026 and will continue for the remainder of the 2026/2027 school year
Duties to include:
- Completing literacy assessments and providing targeted intervention
- Providing foundational numeracy support to individuals and students in small groups, with course work, organization, and assignment completion
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting supports as needed
- Building positive relationships and responding to changing student needs
Qualifications:
- Experience with literacy and numeracy intervention
- Working in K & E programming and Life Skills
- Supporting students who struggle academically
- Experience and ability to differentiate instruction for a variety of student needs
- Experience supporting students who have struggled academically would be considered an asset
- Passion for education and commitment to student success.
- Assessment literate
- Solid planning and organizational skills
- Strong classroom management skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to work in a team-oriented learning environment and be a positive team member
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth
- An understanding of High School Redesign Principles, the Collaborative Response Model, and Differentiation would be considered an asset
- Ability to teach in a flexible learning environment.
