Position Overview

ContractGig is currently hiring Fluid Transfer Technicians for immediate field opportunities in Alberta and British Columbia. This role involves supporting water transfer and pumping operations at active fracturing sites while maintaining high safety, operational and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

Water Pumping Operations

Execute tasks associated with water pumping operations including the setup, operation, monitoring, and dismantling of fluid transfer equipment while ensuring protected and efficient operations.

Monitoring Operations

Monitor fluid levels in tanks and C-rings, operate pumps and filtration equipment, and oversee the transfer of water from onsite storage or external water sources to fracturing locations.

Equipment Maintenance Checks

Conduct pre-operational inspections and routine equipment checks to identify potential issues and help prevent operational disruptions.

Compliance & Procedures

Maintain strict adherence to company, client, and regulatory safety standards and operating procedures across all worksites.

Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with Fluid Transfer Supervisors and field personnel to ensure fluid transfer operations meet project requirements and timelines.

Safety & Documentation

Participate in daily safety meetings, hazard assessments, and risk evaluations while completing all required field documentation and safety paperwork.

- Strong work ethic and commitment to safety
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Mechanical aptitude and field problem-solving abilities
- Experience in water transfer, pumping operations, or oilfield operations considered an asset
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Required Vehicle & Equipment Specifications





To be considered for this position, applicants must provide a vehicle and equipment that meet the following requirements:

- 3/4-ton or 1-ton pickup truck
- Diesel-powered vehicle
- Equipped with a slip tank suitable for field operations
- Basic tools required to perform day-to-day operational tasks

Required Safety Certifications

- H2S Alive
- Standard First Aid
- WHMIS
- TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods)
- CSO (Common Safety Orientation)

Contractor Business Requirements

- Must operate through an Alberta limited company
- Must carry valid commercial liability insurance
- Must have an active GST number
- Must have an active WCB account number

Compensation & Schedule

- Day rate: $650–$750
- Fast pay: 20-day payment terms
- Pick your own work schedule
- Hiring immediately

Work is available immediately for applicants who are fully set up and compliant as contractors with water transfer experience.
