KinderShift is a new B.C.-based app designed to connect childcare centres with pre-screened and verified Early Childhood Educators and ECE Assistants for casual, relief and flexible work opportunities.

We are currently building our initial network of educators and are looking for ECEs and ECEAs who are interested in joining our platform and accessing childcare shifts through the app.

The Opportunity

Through KinderShift, educators will be able to create a profile, indicate their availability and preferred locations, and receive notifications about relevant shifts from participating childcare centres.

This is an opportunity to join our early educator network at the launch stage and help us build a better, more convenient way for ECEs to find flexible work in B.C.

Typical Responsibilities

Depending on the childcare centre and shift, responsibilities may include:

- Interacting with children and building positive, supportive relationships.
- Supporting and implementing age-appropriate activities alongside lead educators.
- Participating in activities such as art, music and movement, dance, phonics and play-based learning.
- Supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities.
- Supporting children's social, emotional and developmental needs.
- Assisting other educators with classroom activities and maintaining a clean, safe setting.




- Communicating professionally with parents and other childcare staff when required.
- Following the policies, procedures and routines of the childcare centre.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

- Valid B.C. ECE or ECE Assistant certification, as applicable to the shifts they wish to accept.
- Valid First Aid certification where required.
- Required criminal record check/clearance for working in a licensed childcare setting.
- Relevant childcare experience is an asset.
- A professional, reliable and caring approach to working with children.
