Mountain Paint
Canada
Looking for a solid, reliable job in Whistler that still leaves you time to actually enjoy living here?
Mountain Paint is a small, family-run Benjamin Moore store in Function Junction, and we're looking for someone easygoing, capable and reliable to join our team.
This is an operations-focused position with a mix of paint tinting, receiving and organizing inventory, preparing contractor orders and helping customers when needed. No paint experience is required — we'll teach you everything you need to know.
We're a laid-back workplace with a small team, music on throughout the day, goofy dogs regularly hanging around, and plenty of independence once you're comfortable in the role. We also genuinely value work-life balance and do our best to be flexible with vacations, time off and scheduling.
If you've worked in trades, construction, painting, landscaping, warehousing, property maintenance, hospitality or retail and are looking for something more consistent — or you simply like practical, hands-on work and learning new things — this could be a great fit.
THE DETAILS
Full-Time — Start ASAP
30–40 hours per week, generally worked over 3–4 days per week
Pay: $25–$29/hour depending on experience
Benefits: Extended health perks available after three month training period
We generally work on a consistent weekly schedule rather than changing shifts week to week. Ideally, we're looking for someone who is available to have Saturdays as a regular part of their ongoing weekly schedule.
Store hours are:
- Monday–Friday: 7:30am–5:30pm
- Saturday: 8:30am–5:30pm
- Sunday: Closed
We understand that flexibility is a big part of living in Whistler and are very accommodating with planned vacations, time off and schedule changes wherever possible.
YOU MIGHT BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU:
- Are reliable, easygoing and enjoy working with a small team
- Like practical,
hands-on work and staying busy throughout the day
- Are organized and naturally notice when something needs to be done
- Have good attention to detail
- Are comfortable learning new systems and products
- Are friendly and comfortable helping customers and contractors
- Are able to work independently once trained
- Are comfortable regularly lifting paint pails and boxes, occasionally up to approximately 60 lbs
- Are looking for a stable position rather than short-term seasonal work
- Don't mind working around a couple of very friendly dogs
Previous paint, trades, retail, inventory or warehouse experience is helpful, but absolutely not required.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Mix and tint paint orders
- Learn colour matching and basic paint/product knowledge
- Receive, unpack and organize incoming inventory
- Prepare orders for contractors and customers
- Keep stock organized and replenished
- Help maintain an organized and efficient back-of-store area
- Assist customers with basic product questions as you become comfortable
- Answer phones and help with customer orders
- Use our point-of-sale and paint tinting systems
- Maintain customer colour and order records
You'll receive full training, and we're not expecting you to walk in knowing anything about paint.
More than anything, we're looking for someone dependable with a good attitude who fits well with our team and wants a comfortable, consistent place to work.
To apply, please send us your resume and a quick introduction about yourself. References are welcome but aren't required with your initial application.
We look forward to meeting you!
