Bakery Production Supervisor

Since 1991, Kinnikinnick Foods has been creating safe and delicious food for people with celiac disease and other dietary restrictions. Our products are free from gluten, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts and soy and are enjoyed by families around the world.

We are currently recruiting an experienced Bakery Production Supervisor to oversee the daily activities of our bakery production team. This position coordinates employees, ingredients, equipment and production priorities, from the preparation of raw ingredients through mixing and baking finished products.

Position Details

- Location: Edmonton, Alberta
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, occasional weekend work may be required as needed
- Wage: $67,000 - $72,000 per annum, depending on experience
- Reports to: Assistant Production Manager

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, organize and oversee the daily activities of the bakery production team.
- Follow the production schedule and coordinate employees, ingredients and equipment to meet production requirements.
- Assign work, establish priorities and monitor progress throughout the shift.
- Train, coach and support employees in the safe and effective performance of their duties.
- Monitor employee attendance, performance and productivity, addressing or escalating concerns as appropriate.
- Ensure company policies, procedures, and health and safety standards are consistently followed.
- Ensure food safety and quality requirements are maintained throughout production.
- Complete required production, safety, quality and HACCP documentation accurately and on time.




- Monitor the quality and timing of finished products and respond promptly to production concerns.
- Estimate ingredient and supply requirements and communicate upcoming needs to the appropriate departments.
- Operate and troubleshoot bakery equipment and coordinate support when repairs or maintenance are required.
- Participate in test runs, new product trials and other production-related projects.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as required.
- Work collaboratively with Production, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Receiving and other departments to meet operational goals.
- Maintain clean, organized and safe work areas.

Qualifications and Experience

- Minimum 5 years of bakery or food manufacturing experience, with strong knowledge of bakery production processes.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory or people-leadership experience.
- Minimum 2 years of food-industry experience.
- Journeyperson Baker certification is an asset; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Experience working with food safety, HACCP and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Strong planning, organization and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and respond effectively to changing production needs.




- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced workplace.
- Comfortable using computers and maintaining accurate production records.
- Mechanical aptitude or experience troubleshooting bakery equipment is an asset.
- Robust written and verbal communication skills in English.

Work EnvironmentThis position works in a fast-paced food-production environment and involves prolonged standing and walking, regular lifting, and exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, food ingredients and operating machinery.

CSA-approved steel-toed footwear is required.
