Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our Guelph production team. This is a hands-on production role focused on completing work orders safely, efficiently, and accurately while meeting our quality standards.

Responsibilities include cutting and splicing materials, fabric, and insulation according to engineered drawings and customer specifications. The role also involves using a forklift to move and set up materials, preparing materials for production, assisting with shipping and receiving, keeping the work area organized, and performing basic maintenance tasks as needed.

The successful candidate will be motivated, dependable, detail-oriented, have a positive attitude, and be eager to learn and contribute to the team

Key Responsibilities:

- Interpret work orders and follow verbal or written instructions to complete assigned tasks.
- Review drawings and customer specifications to determine the appropriate procedures.
- Cut and splice material, fabric, and insulation according to engineered drawings and specifications.
- Use a forklift to move, stage, and set up materials for production.
- Complete assigned work orders on schedule and in accordance with established labour time standards.
- Perform product finishing as specified in the work order.
- Adhere to all quality assurance procedures, including in-process and final inspections, and maintain related QA documentation.
- Transport completed products to the shipping department for packaging.
- Assist with shipping and receiving as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of machines and work areas.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance and equipment-related tasks as required.
- Provide input to supervisors on potential improvements within the production area.




- Participate in safety committee activities as required.
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Shop Lead or Foreman.

Health & Safety Responsibilities:

- Comply with all A.R. Thomson Engineered Solutions Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Consistently wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Immediately report any unsafe conditions or practices to the Supervisor.
- Report all incidents, including near-misses, injuries, and equipment damage, without delay and complete any required documentation.
- Take all reasonable precautions to ensure personal safety and the safety of others in the work environment.

Qualifications / Experience:

- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment is an asset
- Mechanically inclined with a basic understanding of tools and machinery.
- Forklift experience is an asset.
- Physically capable of performing manual tasks, including heavy lifting.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and drawings accurately.
- Motivated with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong strategic, continuous improvement mindset
- Effective time-management skills
- Fluent in English

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
