Job Summary

Maritect is seeking reliable, professional, and customer-focused Security Guards to join our growing team. Security Guards are responsible for protecting people, property, and assets while maintaining a strong visible presence and providing exceptional service to clients and visitors.

Successful candidates will be dependable, observant, able to work independently, and committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform foot patrols of assigned sites
- Monitor premises for suspicious activity, safety hazards, and security breaches
- Control access to buildings, properties, and restricted areas
- Respond to alarms call outs and client requests
- Complete detailed daily activity reports and incident reports
- Provide excellent customer service to clients, visitors, staff, and the public
- Follow all company policies, site procedures, and safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, emergency responders, and fellow team members




- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
- Assist with emergency evacuations and other safety procedures when required

Qualifications

Required

- Valid Nova Scotia Security Guard Licence (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid Driver's Licence and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Reliable, punctual, and professional

Assets

- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Healthcare, industrial, construction, or event security experience
- De-escalation, conflict resolution, or crisis intervention training
- Previous security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience
