Senior Financial Analyst
Main Functions
American Yeast Sales Corporation operates in the food industry and is part of a global organization with operations around the world.
Reporting to the Divisional Controller, the Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in the company's accounting and financial activities while supporting the Sales and Distribution teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the management of accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, costing, and financial statement preparation.
- Supervise and support a team of 2 direct reports.
- Perform month-end close activities.
- Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations and income statement accounts.
- Participate in the preparation of financial statements and periodic financial reports.
- Collaborate with Sales, Distribution, and Operations teams to identify and resolve financial and operational issues.
- Support the annual budgeting process and financial forecasting activities in collaboration with the Divisional Controller.
- Prepare financial analyses to support business decisions and improve overall financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with external audits and requests from auditors.
Technical skills
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or a similar position.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
An asset
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial systems such as Cognos, Concur, and Power BI.
- Experience in a distribution, manufacturing, or inventory-based environment
- CPA designation
