Job description:

We are seeking a qualified Hotel General Manager for a select service Top Branded Hotel property located in Edmonton Airport, Alberta.

The General Manager, under the direction of the Company Director will be responsible for the overall operations of the Hotel. The incumbent will assist in establishing and will achieve approved forecasted revenues, expenses and profits. Service, cleanliness and maintenance aligned with both the brand and management company standards must be met. The General Manager also has responsibility for employee engagement, sales & marketing, reputation management and community relations.

Job Duties:

- Achieve market share in sales & marketing.
- Assume overall responsibility for all departments and operations of the hotel.
- Manage all human resources, required for a limited service hotel.
- Build teamwork across departments.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly & monthly reports as required.




- Prepare budgets and monitor expenses.
- Assure service standards of excellence as per brand standard are in place in all guest areas.
- Address guest relations issues, respond to comments and complaints.
- Implement and follow approved policies and procedures.
- Inspect property at daily bases and ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations.
- Take daily round of the hotel for cleanliness and good working order; ensure preventive measures are taken, supplies ordered.

Requirements:

- Hotel General Manager experience
- Diploma or degree in Hotel/Hospitality Management would be an asset
- 'Hands-on' management style
- Exceptional leadership skills
- Commitment to exceeding guest expectations
- Excellent Computer knowledge of a variety of computer software applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and hotel property management systems
- Familiarity with Marriott, Hilton or Wyndham systems and brand standards would be an asset
