Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Boring Mills Operator to join our manufacturing team on a rotating shift schedule. This direct-hire position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced machinists to work with advanced CNC boring mill equipment, ensuring precision machining of complex components. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in CNC programming, and the ability to interpret detailed blueprints. This role is vital in supporting our commitment to quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement within a dynamic production environment.
Duties
- Operate CNC boring mills, i heavy casting workplace and milling machines, ensuring precise machining of parts according to specifications.
- Set up and calibrate machines using technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models created with SolidWorks or similar software.
- Program CNC machines utilizing Fanus and Heidenhein controls to optimize machining processes and improve productivity.
- Perform routine inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other hand tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints and technical documents to determine machining requirements.
- Maintain machine tools and perform basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to enhance workflow efficiency and reduce waste.
- Assist with assembly, welding, or other related tasks as needed within the manufacturing process.
- Use power tools and hand tools safely for machine setup, maintenance, or minor repairs.
- Operate forklift equipment to move raw materials or finished products safely around the facility.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC boring mills, CNC lathe, or CNC milling machines in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Proficiency in CNC programming using Mazatrol or Fanuc control systems.
- Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar for interpreting design models.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality control assessments.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, assembly, welding, and use of hand tools.
- Ability to work effectively on rotating shifts in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives is preferred.
- Valid forklift certification is advantageous but not mandatory.

Pay: $38.00-$42.00 per hour
