Busy optical store in Oshawa, Ontario. Start date August 24/2026

Responsibilities:

- Supervise and coordinate sales staff and cashiers
- Assign sales workers to duties and prepare work schedules
- Authorize payments and the return of merchandise
- Assist clients in selecting eyeglasses
- Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages
- Maintain specified inventory and order merchandise
- Prepare reports regarding sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters
- Hire and train or arrange for the training of new sales staff and monitor and report on performance
- Ensure the visual standards and image of the store are maintained, such as store displays, signage and cleanliness
- May perform the same duties as workers supervised
- Opening and closing the store, managing escalated complaints, developing and implementing marketing strategies, and signing for deliveries

Skills:
- Strong retail sales experience
- Knowledge of store management principles and practices
- Proficient in using point-of-sale (POS)



systems to process transactions
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and establish long-term relationships with customers
- Strong negotiation skills to close sales and upsell products
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks in a rapid-paced retail environment
- Attention to detail for accurate cash handling and inventory management
- Basic math skills for calculating discounts, totals, and change accurately
