The Role
As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a critical role in clinic operations, patient experience, and physician relationships. This role requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, and prior experience in a diagnostic imaging or medical clinic setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule patients efficiently across modalities, prioritizing STAT and urgent cases
- Manage patient escalations with professionalism, empathy, and resolution-focused communication
- Handle referring physician and clinic escalations, ensuring timely follow-up and service recovery
- Receive, review, and schedule referrals from fax, phone, and online booking platforms
- Use Velox confidently for referral intake, scheduling, and workflow management (experience required)
- Coordinate and schedule technologists based on clinic needs and patient volume
- Support outbound communications to referring clinics, including flyers, updates, and relationship-building initiatives
- Monitor and respond to Google reviews, escalating feedback internally when required
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with privacy and clinic protocols
- Act as a calm, organized point of contact in a high-volume environment
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a medical or diagnostic imaging receptionist (required)
- Velox system experience (required)
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience handling escalations with confidence and professionalism
- Patient-focused mindset with a warm, composed demeanour
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and team-focused
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
