Technical Sales Representative – Security & Telecom

About IP Lynx

IP Lynx is a telecom and security integrator serving businesses across Essex, Chatham-Kent and Southwestern Ontario. We provide VoIP phone systems, access control, video surveillance, structured cabling and managed networks.

We are a small, hands-on team with an established customer base and a growing portfolio of recurring services.

The Role

This is a sales-first role with a technical component.

Approximately 60–70% of your time will focus on identifying, quoting and closing new business, primarily within our existing customer base. The remaining 30–40% will involve remote support, system configuration and customer assistance.

Your initial focus will be cross-selling and expanding services with customers who already know and trust IP Lynx.

What You’ll Do

Sales

- Identify upgrade and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts
- Conduct site walkthroughs and scope customer requirements
- Prepare quotes and proposals for projects and recurring services
- Manage opportunities and maintain the CRM
- Develop referral relationships with IT providers, electricians and contractors
- Attend customer sites throughout the region

Technical Support

- Handle remote VoIP support including extensions, voicemail and call routing
- Perform basic PBX configuration and moves/adds/changes
- Manage access control users, schedules and access levels
- Perform remote camera system checks and user setup
- Properly document and escalate field issues to the installation team

What We’re Looking For

- 2+ years of technical support, help desk, MSP, telecom or similar experience
- Comfortable working inside system administration interfaces
- Genuine interest in technical sales or previous B2B sales experience
- Strong communication skills with non-technical customers
- Ability to work independently
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence and reliable vehicle

Experience with Yeastar, 3CX,



ICT Protege, Kantech, DW Spectrum, Milestone, low-voltage systems or structured cabling is an asset but not required.

What Matters Most

You can walk into a business, notice the back door is being propped open or the camera over the till has been offline for a year, and explain in plain language why it matters.

Technical credibility is what closes deals in this industry.

Compensation

- Base salary: $58,000–$68,000 depending on experience
- OTE: approximately $85,000–$100,000 in year one
- Commission on current recurring revenue and project gross profit
- Vehicle allowance or mileage reimbursement
- Company phone and laptop
- Health benefits after three months
- Two weeks vacation to start

Recurring revenue commission is paid upfront based on a multiple of the first month’s contract value.

Working Arrangement

The position starts fully remote. IP Lynx is currently looking for office space in the Lakeshore/Windsor area, and the role will transition to a hybrid arrangement once established.

Regular customer site visits throughout Southwestern Ontario are required.
