We are searching for an experienced, dynamic, and energetic Veterinary Assistant to join our team in a full-time role (40 hrs/week). We are a busy urgent care hospital, 4-doctor practice open 7 days a week. Our Veterinary Assistants are extremely important members of our team as they are the first and last people to assist our valued patients and clients.
Job Responsibilities include:
- Beginning the procedures for examination.
- Assisting veterinarians and technologists with patient care and treatment.
- Animal handling and restraint, preparing prescriptions.
- Performing routine in-house lab work.
- Assisting with prepping for surgical procedures.
- Educating clients regarding veterinary care and procedures.
including knowledge of veterinary procedures and terminology.
-Have excellent customer service skills.
-Have excellent interpersonal skills.
-Be comfortable handling animals.
-Have excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as organizational skills.
-Be a punctual, dependable quick learner who is able to multitask effectively.
-Be comfortable working under pressure, while keeping calm.
-Be able to work Saturdays, Sundays and evenings.
-Be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted.
