Currently, Connelly & Koshy is looking to fill the position of Staff Accountant. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for preparing personal and corporate tax returns and compiling financial statements, while optimizing our clients’ financial positions. The successful candidate will have and continue to deepen a solid understanding of Canadian tax laws, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.

Please note that this is an onsite position based in our Ottawa, Ontario office. Occasional travel may be required.

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules for tax purposes.
- Prepare and review working paper files for federal and provincial tax returns for individuals, corporations, trusts and partnerships.
- Stay updated on changes to Canadian tax laws and regulations and accounting principles.
- Provide tax planning and advisory services to clients, optimizing their tax positions and identifying opportunities for savings.
- Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information.
- Respond to CRA inquiries and assist with tax audits.
- Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all tax-related activities.
- All other duties as assigned and required.

Qualifications

- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills (written,



oral and presentation), excellent interpersonal and management skills.
- Working knowledge of the Income Tax Act and associated laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Cooperative mindset.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

Minimum Education, Certification, and Experience

- At least 1 - 3 years of relevant experience in public accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experienced with Caseware, Tax Prep, QuickBooks and SAGE would be considered an asset.
