August 31, 2026 POSTING #26/27-34 TEMPORARY JOB POSTING HOUSTON SECONDARY SCHOOL 1.0 FTE TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT SENIOR ENGLISH / TEACHER - LIBRARIAN EFFECTIVE: September 28, 2026 to January 31, 2027* (*or return of the incumbent, whichever occurs first) (and / or other subjects as may be determined by the timetable) The Successful Candidate Will

- Have university qualifications and/or successful teaching experience in teaching English at a secondary level
- Have university qualification and/or successful teaching experience as a Teacher-Librarian and above listed subject areas
- Have experience in developing personalized learning plans with parents
- Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability and desire to work collaboratively with the school staff, parents and broader community
- Be sensitive to the unique needs of home school learners and families
- Be able to monitor and report on student progress using current assessment strategies, including formative and criterion referenced assessment
- Be able to communicate with other schools regarding accessing learning resources, learning opportunities (DL courses, field trips, extra-curricular activities, etc.)




- Be committed to working as a cooperative, team-oriented member of a school wide instructional team attend meetings as required
- Be committed to consultation, parent conferences, and positive home/school/community liaison

SALARY: The starting annual salary for full-time teaching position ranges from $66,538 to $116,870, with placement on the range based on length of services and qualification in accordance with the collective agreement. Additionally, $3,500 annually as a Remote & Rural Allowance (Effective July 1, 2026) .
