Help us fight the good fight against mediocre marketing.

Popcorn Media is a tight-knit, creative agency doing big things in digital marketing, media relations, influencer marketing, and content. We work with a wide range of clients across food, arts, retail, lifestyle, and beyond, helping their brands truly POP online and in real life.

We’re looking for an organized, curious, and proactive Account Associate to join our team.

If you're early in your marketing career, love keeping things organized, have strong instincts for what makes good marketing, and want hands-on experience across clients, campaigns, content, social media, influencers, PR, and digital marketing, this could be the role for you.

About the Role

As an Account Associate at Popcorn, you’ll work closely with our Account Executives, Account Managers, and Directors to help keep client accounts and campaigns moving.

You’ll be involved in everything from preparing client reports and coordinating campaign deliverables to writing content, conducting research, managing social channels, working with creators, and supporting campaign launches.

You won’t be expected to independently lead client accounts from day one. Instead, this role is designed to give you exposure to the full account-management process while gradually taking ownership of projects and client interactions as you develop.

For someone who demonstrates strong execution, communication, judgment, and initiative, the natural next step is progression into an Account Executive role.

This is a hybrid role with in-office days in our Yaletown office.

What You’ll Do

Account & Project Support

- Support the team across multiple client accounts
- Help maintain project timelines, task lists, status documents, and campaign deliverables
- Prepare agendas, meeting notes, follow-up items, and internal/client-facing materials
- Participate in client meetings and gradually take ownership of defined updates and projects
- Keep internal teams informed of upcoming deadlines, approvals, and client requirements
- Flag missing information, potential delays, or issues before they become bigger problems

Campaign Execution
- Support the execution of social media, influencer, PR, content, experiential, SEO, and digital campaigns
- Coordinate creative assets, content approvals,

production schedules, and campaign deliverables
- Assist with campaign launches, community management, contests, events, and activations
- Research influencers, media, competitors, trends, audiences, and campaign opportunities
- Assist with influencer outreach, scheduling, briefing, content tracking, and reporting
- Help coordinate photographers, videographers, creators, vendors, and other campaign partners as required

Content & Social Media
- Draft social media copy, blogs, emails, campaign content, and other marketing materials
- Schedule and publish approved social content
- Monitor and engage with client social media communities
- Ensure content follows client brand guidelines, tone of voice, and campaign objectives
- Stay current on social platforms, content formats, cultural trends, and emerging marketing opportunities

Reporting & Insights
- Gather and organize campaign performance data
- Help prepare monthly client reports and campaign wrap-up reports
- Work with platforms such as Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, social media insights, and reporting dashboards
- Identify notable performance trends and begin developing recommendations based on the data
- Track campaign KPIs and ensure reporting information is accurate and complete

Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with account, creative, content, digital, and leadership teams
- Participate actively in brainstorms, strategy discussions, and team meetings
- Provide thoughtful feedback on creative and campaign work
- Use project-management and collaboration tools to keep work organized and visible
- Use AI and emerging marketing tools responsibly to improve research, ideation, writing, analysis, and workflow efficiency

What You Bring
- 1–2 years of experience in marketing, communications, account coordination, social media, PR, or a related role; agency experience is an asset
- Post-secondary degree, diploma,

or relevant training in marketing, communications, business, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail—you notice the typo, broken link, missing asset, or incorrect date
- Strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines at once
- A proactive mindset—you’re comfortable asking questions but also try to find solutions
- Working knowledge of major social platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and emerging channels
- Basic familiarity with digital marketing concepts including paid media, SEO, analytics, influencer marketing, and content marketing
- Comfort working with spreadsheets, presentation software, project-management platforms, and AI tools
- An interest in understanding why marketing works, not just completing the task in front of you

Bonus if You Have
- Experience working in an agency or supporting multiple brands at once
- Experience with influencer marketing, PR/media relations, experiential campaigns, or branded content
- Copywriting, social media management, or content creation experience
- Familiarity with Meta Ads, Google Ads, Google Analytics, SEO, or reporting platforms
- Experience with tools such as Asana, Notion, Slack, Canva, or similar platforms
- A passion for food, hospitality, arts, culture, retail, or community-based brands

What We Offer

- Competitive salary based on experience
- Hybrid work workplace with 3 in-office days/week
- Paid vacation and sick days

- Flexible health spending allowance

- Education and training reimbursement
- Opportunities to work across a diverse mix of brands, industries, and marketing disciplines
- A clear pathway to increased account ownership and progression into an Account Executive role
