The oldest student association in Canada, the AMS of Queen's University was founded in 1858 and incorporated in 1969 as a non-profit organization. The AMS mandate is “to serve and represent the diverse student population at Queen’s University." The AMS has an annual operating budget of approximately $15 million, and is a dynamic learning environment for our paid and volunteer student positions, and permanent staff.
Job Summary The Accountant is responsible for providing support for the financial reporting within the AMS. This position reports to the Controller, while working directly with our Accounting Team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform the customer invoicing, issue Customer Statements, and monthly reporting of accounts receivable.
- Enter daily sales and receipts.
- Receive, organize, and prepare weekly bank deposits as well as the associated coordination with the courier services.
- Prepare monthly inventory reconciliations.
- Provide training, coaching and mentoring to student employees as necessary.
- Month-end close procedures, as required.
- Assistance with accounts payable, as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma / Certificate in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Two years work experience directly related to the job requirements.
- Experience with Business Central and LS Retail would be an asset,
but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $56,000.00-$61,000.00 per year
