What You’ll Do
As an Accountant, you play a key role in supporting the financial accuracy and operational efficiency of the organization. Working closely with the Financial Controller and broader finance team, you will gain hands-on exposure to the full accounting cycle within a fast-paced, multi-currency and multi-province environment. Your work directly supports accurate reporting, operational decision-making, and the overall financial health of the business.
This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who is comfortable working with numbers, eager to learn, and looking to grow their skills under experienced mentorship in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
The Accountant is responsible for owning Olympia’s marketing vision, brand identity, and campaign strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives while driving awareness, engagement, and growth. This role operates across both strategic leadership and hands-on execution, balancing long-term planning with day-to-day involvement in key initiatives.
You will
- Perform reconciliations for AP, AR, intercompany, inventory, prepaids, accruals, and deposits across both entities.
- Prepare and post journal entries in P21 and Epicor for month-end and year-end processes.
- Process wire transfers and payments to vendors in CAD, USD, and Euro.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure proper documentation for all transactions.
- Reconcile intercompany balances between Olympia Tile & Flextile Ltd.
and resolve differences before close.
- Maintain and update fixed asset schedules, donations, and statutory filings (e.g., sales tax, Canada surveys).
- Provide audit support by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Generate sales and commission-related reports; assist with property lease reporting.
- Upload payroll entries and act as backup for bank transfers when required.
What You Bring
- You bring 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience.
- College diploma or university degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, vendor payments, and audit support preferred.
- Experience with intercompany accounting in a multi-entity workplace an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Analytical skills for reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines under time-sensitive conditions.
- Advanced Excel — pivot tables, lookups, and multi-tab reconciliation models. Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
- Hands-on experience in an enterprise ERP; Prophet 21 (P21) or Epicor preferred.
- Experience processing multi-currency payments (CAD, USD, Euro) through an online banking platform an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional integrity and discretion in handling financial information
