Role Description The Accountant is a full-time, in office role based in Burnaby, BC, responsible for supporting the financial health and integrity of Stardust Solar Energy. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining general ledger accounts, processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank and credit card statements, and preparing journal entries. The role also involves assisting with month-end and year-end close, generating financial reports, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.
The Accountant will ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations,
coordinate with external auditors, and collaborate with operations and leadership teams to provide accurate financial insights that support decision-making.
Qualifications
- Strong financial accounting and reporting skills, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
- Proficiency in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice management, payment processing, and collections.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support planning and performance monitoring.
- Advanced proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic modeling).
- Knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and tax regulations, including GST/HST and corporate tax compliance.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume environments.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in an on-site setting.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional designation (CPA in progress or completed) is an asset.
- Experience in the renewable energy, construction, or franchising sectors is an advantage, along with an interest in sustainability and clean technology.
