Pearson Cardell LLP is growing and is looking for a full-time Senior Accounting Technician to work with us in Calgary. Position Description

· Senior Accounting Technicians are responsible for the preparation of working papers, financial statements and tax returns (Compilations, T2, Reviews and Audits) in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and firm standards

- Prepare T1's, T4s, T5s, GST and other compliance returns
- Preparing responses to CRA client audits both corporate and personal
- Preparation of T1 personal tax returns
- Financial Advisory services to clients which may include assistance with internal accounting records updates and revisions for year end reconciliation and review purposes
- Maintaining client relationships

Preferred Qualifications





- Minimum 5 years of experience working in a public practice accounting firm with owner managed businesses
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with Caseware and Profile (or TaxPrep)
- Practice Management Software experience: IFirm and Financial Cents
- Microsoft Office competency - all platforms, specifically Excel and Outlook
- Knowledge of the Canada Revenue Agency on line portal for businesses and TRACS system for Alberta corporations
- Bookkeeping proficiency Quickbooks Online

- A high level of focus and attention to detail is required. Must be able to meet prescribed deadlines with minimal supervision
- Demonstrates a commitment to delivering high-quality work, exceptional service, and timely results that exceed client expectations.
- Ability to prioritize workload and flexibility to manage multiple tasks
- Strong qualified communication skills so as to maintain effective working relationships with clients and team members. Ability to communicate fluently in English (written and spoken).
- Due to the nature of the Canadian accounting industry and tax filing deadlines, our team finds that the months of February to June results in increased hours to meet the needs of its clients. We balance this temporary ebb and flow of the industry with flexible work day schedules during the less busy season.

Let’s Talk Numbers We believe in transparency and fairness. Annual salary for this position starts at $68,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our benefit package provides significant additional value beyond base compensation.
