ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF SPECIALIST I (BAND LEVEL 6)
Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science
(2-Year Contractual Position)

DUTIES The Administrative Staff Specialist I will be responsible for providing administrative staff support to the Director of Co-op in the Engineering Co-operative Education Office (ECEO). Duties include performing a variety of administrative support activities; co-managing the student placement process for 1,000 student placements each year; ensuring accurate placements to enable students to meet graduation requirements; assisting in managing the Engineering Co-op job competition, including posting nearly 1,500 jobs per year, arranging interviews, and presenting job offers; updating Orbis (ECEO database); communicating regularly with existing and potential employers, tracking and updating details related to eligibility for funding and work terms; providing supervision and guidance to other office staff; and performing other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Experience (3-5 years) in an administrative staff capacity; completion of most university coursework toward an undergraduate degree in business administration, public administration, or a related area from a four-year college or university is required; or an equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of student administrative systems (Student Banner or similar), Microsoft Excel, and databases (Orbis or similar), as well as robust attention to detail.
Experience working in an academic environment and an understanding of the University’s policies and procedures would be assets.
SALARY $57,336 - $67,257 per annum (Non-Bargaining)
