Job Overview:
Join OMAC Martial Arts Brant Street as an After School Program Coordinator and help create a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for our students! In this role, you will supervise students in the after-school room, coordinate and facilitate engaging crafts and activities, and ensure the safety and well-being of all students. Your energy, creativity, and leadership will help make each afternoon an enjoyable and positive experience for our students.
This paid position is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children, is responsible and organized, and wants to be part of a positive and active community environment. The position runs Monday–Friday, from September 2026 through June 2027, with hours typically from 3:00 PM–6:00 PM.
Duties:
- Supervise students in the after-school room and ensure their safety and well-being at all times
- Coordinate and facilitate crafts, games, and other engaging activities for students
- Create a fun, welcoming, and positive workplace for children
- Encourage positive behavior, teamwork, respect, and cooperation among students
- Maintain accurate attendance and ensure students are properly supervised throughout the program
- Follow OMAC Martial Arts safety procedures and program guidelines
- Assist students with transitions between activities and maintain an organized daily routine
- Help maintain a clean, organized,
and safe after-school room
- Provide positive guidance and support to students throughout the afternoon
- Communicate professionally with parents, guardians, and OMAC team members when needed
Requirements:
- Prior experience working with children in an educational, recreational, childcare, or similar setting is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to supervise and engage a group of children in a positive and structured environment
- Creative and enthusiastic about planning and facilitating crafts and activities
- Reliable, responsible, and punctual
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities
- A genuine passion for working with children and creating a positive after-school experience
- Must be able to provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check as a condition of employment
- First Aid/CPR or child safety training is an asset but not required
