Pet Valu Sales Associate – Job Overview & Responsibilities

Job Overview A Pet Valu Sales Associate provides excellent customer service while helping pet parents find the right products for their pets. Associates are responsible for creating a welcoming, clean, and organized store while demonstrating strong product knowledge and a passion for animals.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Sales

- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
- Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate products.
- Build knowledge of pet food, treats, toys, supplements, and other products.
- Promote current sales, promotions, and featured products.
- Look for opportunities to add relevant products to customer purchases.

Store Operations
- Operate the cash register accurately and follow cash-handling procedures.
- Receive, stock, organize, and face merchandise.
- Maintain accurate pricing, signage, and promotional displays.
- Check product dates and rotate inventory when required.





Store Standards
- Keep the store clean, organized, and safe.
- Complete assigned cleaning and daily tasks.
- Follow store safety, loss prevention, and operational procedures.

Teamwork & Initiative
- Work positively with team members and management.
- Take initiative and identify tasks that need to be completed.
- Continue learning about products and store operations.
- Assist with other duties as required.

Expectations A successful Pet Valu Sales Associate is friendly, reliable, customer-focused, knowledgeable, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. The goal is to provide an excellent experience for pet parents while helping maintain a clean, organized, and successful store.

Pay: $17.60 per hour
