We are seeking a Ford Apprentice Technician to join our service team. This is a hands-on apprenticeship position where you will work alongside licensed technicians, developing your skills in diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of Ford vehicles. This role is ideal for someone looking to launch a career in the automotive trades.

This position is supported by the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) People & Talent Program.

Main Responsibilities

· Assist licensed technicians with diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance on Ford vehicles.

· Perform oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and other basic services under supervision.

· Learn to use Ford's proprietary diagnostic tools and software (e.g., IDS, FDRS).

· Maintain a clean and organized service bay, following health and safety protocols.

· Participate in OEM and trade school training toward apprenticeship milestones.

· Document repair orders accurately and communicate findings to senior technicians or service advisors.

· Support seasonal tire changeover and winter preparation services, critical to local operations.

· Monitor and manage inventory of parts and shop supplies as needed.

· Develop proficiency in servicing Ford F-150 trucks, the dealership's primary sales and service unit.

· Keep work area neat and clean.

· Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner.





· Report any safety issues immediately to management.

· Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

· Experience with or strong interest in automotive tools and repair techniques.

· Enrolled in or willing to enroll in an automotive apprenticeship program.

· Knowledge of shop protocols and safety practices.

· Robust desire to learn and build a career in the automotive trades.

· Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.

· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as required for the role.

· Valid driver's license.

· Legally eligible to work in Canada.

NOHFC Eligibility Requirements

This position is funded through the NOHFC People & Talent Program. To be eligible, candidates must:

· Be a new entrant into the workforce, transitioning to a new career, or underemployed and entering a new field.

· Be at least 18 years of age.

· Reside in Northern Ontario.

· Not have previously participated in NOHFC's People & Talent Program.

· Competitive pay rates.

· 52-week paid apprenticeship within a 78-week work term.

· Standard work schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
