Role Overview

We are hiring a Background Investigator to conduct background checks and investigations on candidates and employees. The role combines investigative rigor with discretion — producing thorough, accurate reports that hiring decisions can rely on.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive background investigations across employment, education, criminal, and credit
- Interview references and verify credentials with previous employers and institutions
- Search public records, court databases, and credentialing registries
- Document findings clearly and write thorough investigative reports
- Maintain compliance with FCRA, state, and industry-specific regulations
- Manage a caseload of investigations against turnaround SLAs

Required Skills and Qualifications

- 2+ years in background investigation, compliance, or investigative work
- Strong research skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with FCRA and adverse action processes




- Excellent written communication and report writing
- Comfort with investigative tools, court records, and public databases
- Discretion when handling sensitive personal information
