Prairie Hill Farms is looking for a Batch Maker/Kettle Operator (Production Worker) to help with running the daily production operations of the company. The ideal candidate should be hard-working, friendly, possess a desire to learn and grow, punctual and have an open-minded attitude. The worker should have prior knowledge and experience in a food production facility, or equivalent experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Batching and Recipe Preparation - Operating the cooking kettles and preparing production batches of sauces, juices and jams to recipe specifications
- Assisting in the manufacturing and production of various haskap berry products
- Assisting in the manufacturing of jar/bottling, boxing and bagging production lines
- Clean and sanitize equipment and facility ensuring sanitation requirements are met
- Working in a team environment to achieve production and customer targets
- Able to proactively problem solve and keep operations flowing smoothly
- Work under pressure with an emphasis on Health and Safety
- Diligently fill out production and sanitation paperwork as necessary
- Identify issues in efficiency and suggest improvements to management
- Train recent employees on how to safely use machinery and follow procedures
- Monitor level of supplies and handle shortages – inventory control
- Maintain trusting relationships with suppliers, customers and colleagues

Skills and Competencies

- Proven experience in a production facility with food handling knowledge
- Experience using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools

- High School Diploma
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP and SQF preferred
- Excellent organizational and time management skills

Requirements

- High school diploma
- Must have been employed for at least 1 year in a food facility or equivalent
- Manufacturing experience
- Basic math skills
- Advanced use of the English Language – Spoken and written.
- Outgoing, positive, and enjoy collaborating with people.
- Above average communication and people skills
- Knowledge of GMP and HACCP
