We are a family owned and run Market & Bistro located on our farm in Pitt Meadows. We are looking for more team members that are passionate about supporting local products and offering our customers the best service and selection.

We are currently looking to fill a front counter position in our Bistro/Cafe. Our Bistro specializes in farm to plate ingredients including our own locally raised and sourced meats. Our customers love our homemade soups, sandwiches, cinnamon buns and burgers.

The successful candidate must be available Mondays and Saturdays with adaptable availability to cover shifts.

Must be available 8:00 am to 4:30 pm The Bistro Front Clerk's Responsibilities Include:

- Greet and serve customers promptly and with a smile, prepare coffee, soups, and baked goods.
- Prepare and assemble paninis by slicing meats, portioning ingredients, and maintaining strict compliance with all food safety and sanitation protocols.
- Take orders, run the till, and handle to-go orders efficiently.
- Ensure food quality and safety standards are met; assist with food prep and baking tasks.
- Keep bistro stocked, organized, and clean throughout the day, including tables, patio, and washrooms.
- Open and close the bistro, preparing service areas and managing basic maintenance tasks.
- Be knowledgeable about menu items, specials, farm products, and sustainability practices to assist customers.

Skills and Qualifications:





- A passion for customer service, teamwork, and sales.
- A positive, friendly, and proactive attitude; able to handle busy periods and resolve customer concerns.
- Strong communication skills and ability to take direction.
- Self-starting work ethic with an upbeat, positive approach.
- Food Safe and Serving It Right Certification is required; candidates must be willing to obtain certification during the probationary period if not already certified.
- Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience is considered an asset.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

- Work comfortably in a cool retail environment, including refrigerated and freezer areas.
- Safely handle hot and cold-water during food preparation and cleaning tasks.
- Use knives, cutting tools, and deli slicers safely and accurately.
- Perform medium duty lifting of up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Remain active on your feet throughout an 8-hour shift.
- Regularly bend, crouch, and move as required to complete daily tasks efficiently.
