Solidus Law
Ottawa
Company Description Solidus Law (formerly SullivanLaw) is an Ottawa-based law firm focused on delivering smart, candid, and thoughtful legal services tailored to each client’s needs. The firm has a good reputation for helping clients reach appropriate resolutions across Family Law, Civil Litigation, Collaborative Family Resolution Process and Wills & Estates. Team members join a client-centered environment that values professionalism, integrity, and accessible legal support.
Role Description The Bookkeeper is a part-time, on-site role based in Ottawa, ON, responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records for the firm - mostly balancing the trust account in accordance with LSO rules, calculating CRA filing obligations and payroll, preparing journal entries, and assisting with monthly and annual financial statements. We welcome input and advice about day-to-day efficiencies. The role involves working with Unity Accounting (formerly ESI Law) accounting software and working with staff to reconcile accounts.
We are pleased to incorporate the proper candidate into the firm culture and include the candidate in firm activities - seasonal parties and socials.
As the Solidus Law Bookkeeper, you will be expected to attend the office at least once a month but you can decide on the day and how much time you want/need to put in. There is some remote work available.
The Bookkeeper will collaborate with lawyers and administrative staff to provide timely financial information, support budgeting and cash flow monitoring, and help streamline financial processes. This position requires solid attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to manage confidential financial data and solicitor/client confidences in a professional manner.
There may be an opportunity to take on another firm which shares space with Solidus Law - certainly NOT double the work.
