Animal Rehabilitation Therapist - Canine Physio

Who never dreamed of working with dogs as a physiotherapist?

Wag That Tail is looking for a part time physiotherapist to join our wonderful team of canine professionals. This position has clear potential to evolve into a full-time role as the clinic expands. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work in our brand-new canine wellness facility. This unique facility is currently being built and is set to open this Fall (2026). We also offer mentoring for the physiotherapist without animal experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Conduct physical rehabilitation assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for animal (mainly dog) patients
- Provide hands-on therapeutic treatments including manual therapy, soft tissue release, myofascial release, laser therapy, electromuscular stimulation (EMS/TENS), and therapeutic exercise programs
- Collaborate with our other professionals on site (physio, hydrotherapist, massage therapist)
- Collaborate with referring veterinarians on patient care and progress
- Educate pet owners on home exercise programs and ongoing management
- Contribute to the growth of animal rehabilitation in our community

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required

- Registered Physiotherapist in positive standing with a Canadian provincial regulatory college (or eligible for registration in Ontario)
- Certification in animal rehabilitation (Diploma in Canine Rehab through CPA/ARD now known as the ARAC, or CCRP, or CCRT, or equivalent)



— OR actively enrolled with completion expected within 12 months (minimum course requirement to be able to practice Introduction to the Canine Patient)

Assets

- Malpractice insurance for animal rehabilitation (or willingness to obtain)
- Comfort working with dogs of all sizes and temperaments in a clinical environment
- Acupuncture and dry needling certification
- Bilingual
