Carpenter

HDB Muskoka is looking to add an experienced Carpenter to our team for seasonal work in the Muskoka and Lake of Bays area.

We specialize in waterfront construction, including docks, stairs, decks, boathouses, dock repairs, and other custom carpentry projects. A large portion of our work is completed directly on the water, so this position is a valuable fit for someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in quality craftsmanship.

Position: Seasonal Full Time Carpenter

Pay: $25.00–$40.00 per hour, based on experience and skill level

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday with additional hours available when required

Location: Muskoka / Lake of Bays, Ontario

Responsibilities

Framing and general carpentry

Building and repairing docks, decks, stairs, railings, and other waterfront structures

Measuring, cutting, and installing lumber accurately

Reading measurements, plans, and project layouts

Working with pressure-treated lumber, structural timbers, and various building materials

Safely operating power tools and construction equipment

Working from boats and barges when required

Maintaining a clean and organized job site

Working efficiently with the rest of the crew to complete projects on schedule

Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who has previous carpentry or construction experience and is comfortable working independently when required.



You should be reliable, hardworking, and confident completing carpentry work to a professional standard.

The ideal candidate will

Have previous carpentry/framing experience

Be comfortable working outdoors and around the water

Have experience using common carpentry and power tools

Be able to accurately measure, cut, frame, and assemble structures

Have reliable transportation

Be physically capable of lifting and handling construction materials

Be dependable and show up ready to work

Work well as part of a crew

Take pride in producing clean, professional work

Experience with dock building, deck construction, timber framing, stairs, or waterfront construction is considered a strong asset.

HDB Muskoka is a growing waterfront construction company serving Muskoka and the Lake of Bays area. Our crews work on a variety of projects throughout the region, with much of our work taking place directly on the lake using our work boats and barge.

We’re looking for someone who wants steady work, enjoys building, and is interested in becoming a valuable long-term member of our crew.

Salary: $25.00–$40.00 per hour
