We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher to join our team to cover a mat leave starting November 1, 2026. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive and inspiring learning environment for young children to reach their full potential.
Duties
- Plan, lead and present Montessori lessons and activities to young children of diverse learning styles.
- Provide developmentally age-appropriate learning opportunities while creating and maintaining a supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.
- Assess student performance through observation and documentation, perform regular evaluations and feedback in preparation for report cards and individualized plans.
- Collaborate with fellow educators, parents, and staff to support student development and address any challenges.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress reports.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on educational best practices.
- Uphold school policies and Ministry guidelines; understands CCEYA Licensing Standards and HDLH document contributing to a positive school culture.
- General housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and healthy classroom area.
Requirements
- Graduated with Montessori MACTE or AMI Diploma with 1 to 2 years of Montessori classroom experience.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to create an inclusive classroom environment that respects diverse backgrounds and learning needs.
- Proficiency in classroom management techniques and conflict resolution strategies.
- A passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR (Level C) certification.
- Up-to-date medical record and immunization record.
- Police Reference Check within the last 6 months.
