Civil Construction Superintendent – Earthworks & Underground U Build Group | Manitoba

We are looking for an experienced Civil Construction Superintendent to take a leadership role in building and growing our civil construction division.

The Opportunity

As our Civil Construction Superintendent – Earthworks & Underground, you will lead the field operations of our civil division. You will be responsible for managing crews, subcontractors, equipment, schedules, production, safety, and quality while working closely with our Project Management and leadership teams.

You will have the opportunity to make decisions, implement better systems, develop people, and have a direct impact on how our civil division operates and grows.

We are looking for someone who knows civil construction inside and out and can confidently take a project from the first day on site through completion.

What You'll Be Responsible For

- Lead and manage earthworks, excavation, underground utilities, site servicing, grading, and civil construction operations.
- Plan and coordinate daily site activities, manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
- Lead civil crews and operators while creating a productive, accountable, and positive jobsite culture.
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers, engineers,



consultants, subcontractors, and clients.
- Review drawings, specifications, grades, elevations, and project requirements to ensure work is being completed correctly.
- Manage production and ensure projects are staying on schedule and meeting required milestones.
- Identify issues early and work with the project team to develop practical solutions.
- Monitor labour, equipment, material usage, and production to help control project costs.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, estimating, change orders, and scope development when required.
- Maintain strong quality-control standards throughout the project.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies, project requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Complete daily reports, progress tracking, photos, documentation, and other required project records.
- Help develop and improve U Build Group's civil operations, systems, processes, and field standards.
- Take ownership of the overall success of the civil work and hold the team accountable to the plan.

What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who has real-world civil construction experience and has spent significant time in the field—not someone who simply understands civil construction from a desk.

Our ideal candidate will have:

- Extensive experience supervising earthworks and underground civil construction.
- Strong knowledge of excavation, site servicing, sewer and water, storm drainage, grading, roadworks,



and site development.
- Experience operating and coordinating heavy equipment and equipment operators.
- The ability to read and understand civil drawings, specifications, grades, elevations, and layouts.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Experience managing crews, subcontractors, equipment, and production.
- A strong understanding of construction schedules, productivity, and project costs.
- The ability to identify problems before they become expensive problems.
- A hands-on, accountable approach to leadership.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with construction technology such as Bluebeam, Procore, or similar platforms is an asset.

Pay: $77,889.45-$108,889.00 per year
